Susan Fitzgibbon Shumaker joined the Moses Cone~Wesley Long Community Health Foundation as President in September 2009. She has a Master of Health Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University, as well as over 25 years experience in healthcare leadership. Susan has been with the Moses Cone Health System since 2001, serving as President of Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, North Carolina. She was instrumental in leading the integration of Annie Penn Hospital into the Health System. Susan held leadership roles at Annie Penn Hospital beginning in 1984, serving as Vice President of Clinical Services/Assistant Administrator and then as President and Chief Executive Officer. During her tenure at Annie Penn, the Annie Penn Hospital Foundation and the Annie Penn Community Trust (now the Reidsville Area Foundation) were established. Prior to joining Annie Penn, she served as a Registered Nurse at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. We welcome Susan to the Foundation and to the Greensboro community. |
