The Foundation is directed by a seventeen-member Board and is a supporting organization to Moses Cone Health System.  The Foundation’s mission is to invest in the development and support of activities, programs and organizations that measurably improve the health of people in the geographic area traditionally served by Moses Cone Health System.  Funding priorities include Wellness and Access to Care.  Foundation investments benefit individuals and families throughout the greater Greensboro area.

Wellness priorities include:

  • Physical Activity and Nutrition, with emphasis on obesity prevention
  • Mental Health
  • Substance Abuse, including tobacco use prevention and cessation
  • Responsible sexual behavior, including the prevention of HIV/AID’s
  • Infant Mortality

The Foundation is committed to spending a minimum of 5% of the value of its assets annually.  A program committee reviews grant applications.  The committee is especially interested in initiatives that are creative, evidence based and cost efficient and will impact the health of the population they are designed to serve.  The positive financial impact of these grants and programs should benefit individuals and families throughout the greater Greensboro area.
