The Moses Cone-Wesley Long Community Health Foundation is a supporting organization of Moses Cone Health System. As such, the Foundation follows guidelines originally established when this supportive relationship was formed. These guidelines are significant since they are important to the grant making of the Foundation.
- The Foundation funds projects that are consistent with the mission and purpose of Moses Cone Health System. At the heart of both organizations is the desire to improve the health of the community.
- In this relationship, Moses Cone Health System still maintains the role of provider of charity care. This is a role that has historically been played by the Health System.
- The Foundation will plan projects in collaboration with the Health System at both the senior management and Board levels. This is especially true when projects directly involve the Health System, or where a request for financial support has been received by both organizations. The Foundation and the Health System will regularly communicate regarding the Foundation’s grant making activities.
