Grant Acknowledgment Guidelines

 We welcome you as a grantee of the Moses Cone-Wesley Long Community Health Foundation community of grantees.  Please familiarize yourself with these acknowledgment guidelines, which we hope will be helpful as you proceed with your program. 

Acknowledgments for this grant should include:

  • A general acknowledgment of the Foundation among Grantee’s list of annual funders in all appropriate programs, publications and other public announcements for the grant period.  
  • Specific acknowledgment of the Foundation’s support of this project on all related printed materials including books, posters, brochures, flyers, press releases and in public announcements referring to the funded project. 
  • Prominence of acknowledgment should be commensurate with level of funding relative to other funding sources. 

Public Announcements:

The Foundation reserves the right to announce this grant publicly in a manner and at a time of its choosing.  The Grantee may make the announcement about this grant using a press release conforming to the following guidelines:

  •  The Foundation should be named in the first paragraph.
  •  Provision should be made in the release for a quote from a representative of the Foundation, although the Foundation may decline the option.
  •  If there are other funders of the project cited in the release, the amount of their investment(s) should also be stated; other funders of the recipient organization should not be mentioned in the release.
  •  In general, the announcement of a grant for a specific program should not include reference to any other program.
  • The following description of the Foundation should be included in the announcement: The Moses Cone-Wesley Long Community Health Foundation was initially funded as one outcome of the merger of Wesley Long Community Hospital and Moses Cone Health System.  The Foundation focuses on developing programs and providing resources to enhance the overall health status of the Greensboro-area community.
  • The final version of the press release, or other announcement form (including articles in Grantee’s newsletters, etc.) and its release date, should be reviewed and approved by the Foundation in advance of dissemination. 

Other Guidelines:

The Foundation should be notified at least 24 hours in advance of a planned news conference about this grant.h  The Foundation should be notified of any pending news coverage (e.g., newspaper article, and news story on television or radio station) about this grant.
